Everyday Little – Socks

Heya! Fritter here with my first Topical Tuesday! Tuesdays, I’ll be trying to discuss a topic directly related to the CGl community. (Please note that when I say CGl, I’m encompassing a wide range of community abbreviations. CGl is just my preferred go-to.)

Being Little is something that brings comfort and joy to those who experience that particular headspace. And for me, it’s my favorite headspace to be in. Of course, I can’t always be at home in jammies and drowning in my plushie collection. I go to work, I handle chores, I pay bills, I run errands, etc. And for a lot of people, I think those types of things bring this feeling of being locked out of the Little headspace.

But it doesn’t have to be that way!

Cue: Everyday Little! These posts will focus on ways that I’ve found I can be Little in my every day life, even when I’m doing otherwise “big” things like my day job.

s-l1000Today I wanna talk about socks. Yes, socks! In reality, most people are never paying attention to the socks you’re wearing. And if you have close-toed shoes, that standard article of clothing is just begging for some secret Little-ing. Socks are a great way to bring that Little feeling into your everyday life.

It’s not even necessarily an unusual thing anymore. Loads of people wear fun or interesting socks, even with suits and ties. If you’re nervous about going too far at once, start by finding socks in some of your favorite colors – whether that’s bright primary colors or softer pastels. If you’re feeling more adventurous, check out socks with fun patterns or that feature your favorite animals. If you’re into geeky things, your sock choices are practically limitless! (I’m wearing bright yellow Pikachu socks today!)

With your super socks on, any time you want a bit of connection to your Little side, just take a peek down toward your shoes. Lift up your pant leg and enjoy the bright red fabric or those too-cute unicorns. I also find it to be a great mood boost if I’m in a long line or finding myself frustrated at work.

Just be careful – your sock collection may soon rival your stuffie collection!

Axolochi – Too Cute!

As I continue to work on getting posts appropriately scheduled to give you regular content, I intend to make Mondays the blog’s “Review Day!” I’ll review games, toys, websites, tv shows, movies… whatever comes up!

Today, I’m taking a look at Axolochi – a mobile game by Hyperbeard Games.

img_5363I’ll start by saying I love Hyperbeard Games. They’ve done a lot of games that I’ve distinctly enjoyed playing: including KleptoCats, Alchademy, and Clawbert.

Axolochi puts you in charge of caring for an axolotl and evolving it through several phases of growth. Eventually, you earn a relic when your axolotl has gotten big and strong enough. At that point, you get a new egg, and the process starts over!

Caring for your axolotl is simple. You can pet your axolotl, feed it, and wash it. Doing those three activities earn you hearts – which bring your friend closer to evolution – and coins – which you can spend on various things.

The game is free-to-play with available in-app purchases. What I love about Axolochi is that the available starter pack is only $4, and it gives you enough coins and pearls (the premium in-game currency) to unlock all the available kinds of food to feed your axolotl and a big chunk of the available egg types. It’s a lot of bang for relatively small buck if you find you enjoy the game after your first couple friends! The game can get rather repetitive, and it’s definitely not for someone looking for a very active game. This is much more a “check-in occasionally” kind of game for a quick burst of cuteness.

If you’d like to get Axolochi for yourself, it’s available on both Android and Apple! Check out the official website for links to each app store!
