Tonton Friends – Adorable Pudges

Alright! I’ve decided there’s way too many things out there to share and review, so I’m doing two review posts a week! Mondays AND Thursdays! You’re welcome. ೕ(・ㅂ・ )

Today, we’re going to take a look at one of the most adorable little comics out there: Tonton Friends.

49938587_2945703348788489_7038674116437606400_nTonton Friends is a Korean-produced series of short comics featuring four main characters (the cast is now expanding slightly). There’s the prissy tsundere cat Bella, the lovestruck Shiba dog Yuta, the socially anxious bear Winnie, and the snacking and snoozing bunny Tobi. Each comic features one or more of the chubby friends in a simple, wholesome scenario.

While Tonton Friends is produced in Korean, the artist also provides translations into English. But a lot of the comics include no text at all – it’s not necessary for the cute scenes played out in 4-or-so panels. This makes it perfect for Little Space – minimal reading or comprehension required!

49763662_2932204690138355_290204884286832640_nIn the last year or so, Tonton Friends has seen massive success in developing their brand. The company now offers some merchandise, which honestly sells out very quickly! I was unlucky when the first plush line came out during my recovery from cancer and missed the window of opportunity to snag a squishy friend. But I was much MORE lucky last month when a new line of plushies came out. (My Winnie plush finally arrived yesterday!) The Tonton Forest website (where you can purchase merch) still has limited quantities of the plushies available, as well as a few other merch options. I really want to snap up some of the enamel pins…

What I really love about Tonton friends is how sweet and wholesome the comics are. They’re simply designed, they’re not busy or cluttered, and they always bring a smile to my face. Even without a ton of words or story, each character has a distinct personality that really shines through. Winnie is definitely my personal favorite. Plus, their pudgie plumpness makes me feel a bit more comfortable with my own fluffiness!

Axolochi – Too Cute!

As I continue to work on getting posts appropriately scheduled to give you regular content, I intend to make Mondays the blog’s “Review Day!” I’ll review games, toys, websites, tv shows, movies… whatever comes up!

Today, I’m taking a look at Axolochi – a mobile game by Hyperbeard Games.

img_5363I’ll start by saying I love Hyperbeard Games. They’ve done a lot of games that I’ve distinctly enjoyed playing: including KleptoCats, Alchademy, and Clawbert.

Axolochi puts you in charge of caring for an axolotl and evolving it through several phases of growth. Eventually, you earn a relic when your axolotl has gotten big and strong enough. At that point, you get a new egg, and the process starts over!

Caring for your axolotl is simple. You can pet your axolotl, feed it, and wash it. Doing those three activities earn you hearts – which bring your friend closer to evolution – and coins – which you can spend on various things.

The game is free-to-play with available in-app purchases. What I love about Axolochi is that the available starter pack is only $4, and it gives you enough coins and pearls (the premium in-game currency) to unlock all the available kinds of food to feed your axolotl and a big chunk of the available egg types. It’s a lot of bang for relatively small buck if you find you enjoy the game after your first couple friends! The game can get rather repetitive, and it’s definitely not for someone looking for a very active game. This is much more a “check-in occasionally” kind of game for a quick burst of cuteness.

If you’d like to get Axolochi for yourself, it’s available on both Android and Apple! Check out the official website for links to each app store!

First Fri-YAY!

In the first “real blog post” for the blog – we’re starting off with the Friday feature: “Fri-YAY!” These posts intend to be a mishmash of cute or fun things I’ve found over the course of the week. It’ll end with the Word of the Week – ‘cuz words are fun and awesome and I want my fellow Littles to learn!

The holiday season is upon us! And I remembered a really cute commercial about cats and Christmas trees from last year. Time for a re-watch!

Today’s Fri-YAY is EXTRA yay for me. It’s payday, which means I can finish getting holiday presents purchased! I swear I don’t mean to procrastinate this much.

WORD OF THE WEEK: PIFFLE
pif·fle | ˈpi-fəl
(noun) Trivial nonsense; silliness
“Launching rolled-up balls of wrapping paper at Senpai is my favorite sort of holiday piffle.”
